Many modern cars have their top speed limited in software to values such as 210 km/h, 240 km/h, or 250 km/h. This limit is often tied to tire rating, market differences, or insurance agreements. Why Is Speed Limiter Delete Done?

• Modified vehicles: A chiptuned car reaches the factory limit faster; the limit must be removed to use full potential.
• Track driving: Closed-track events may require higher top speed.
• Commercial and fleet restrictions: Software limits of 90–100 km/h on light commercial vehicles can be removed.

How Is It Done?

1. ECU software read and backup.
2. V-max parameter edit: Speed limit removed or raised to desired value in software.
3. Software load and ECU adaptation.
4. Road test.

Is It Safe?

Safety depends directly on tire speed rating. We always advise customers requesting speed limiter delete to check tire ratings and use V (240 km/h), W (270 km/h), or Y (300 km/h) rated tires when needed. Brakes, suspension, and grip are also decisive at high speed.
