The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is designed to trap soot particles in diesel exhaust gases. In frequent stop-start city driving, the DPF may not regenerate sufficiently and eventually clogs, causing power loss, higher fuel consumption, and recurring fault codes. Why Is DPF Delete Done?

A new OEM DPF unit can cost between 25,000–90,000 TRY. Instead of replacing a clogged DPF, software deactivation in the ECU is often the most cost-effective and reliable long-term solution. After the procedure:

• The vehicle stops attempting regeneration; stop-start driving no longer causes issues.
• Fuel consumption improves (no extra fuel burned during regeneration).
• The check engine light and DPF warning turn off permanently.
• Engine power returns to previous performance.

Symptoms of DPF Clogging

• Persistent "DPF full" or check engine light on the dashboard.
• Noticeable power loss under acceleration (limp mode / emergency mode).
• Rough idle, high exhaust temperature.
• Rising oil level (due to regeneration by-products).

How Is DPF Delete Performed?

1. Fault diagnosis: A professional diagnostic tool reads DPF differential pressure, regeneration counts, and fault codes.
2. Reading the original file: ECU software is read and the backup file is stored safely.
3. Software delete: All DPF-related controls (differential pressure sensor, temperature sensors, regeneration cycles, lambda differential control) are permanently disabled in software.
4. Loading the software: The modified file is written back to the ECU.
5. Physical delete (optional): The filter is emptied or replaced with a straight pipe in the same location.
6. Fault code clearing and test drive: All codes are cleared and verified on the road.
